Assorted tips for presentations, videos and radio broadcasts

  1. On presentations:
    1. Check the material given to you during course 2 (if you've still got it - if not, you'll find it here)

  2. Videos:
    1. Remember the manuscript: plan what to say, how to say it and practice saying it out loud!
    2. Remember the structure: start by introducing the topic & problem at hand, then the background; after that, the possible remedies. Finish off with a summary.
    3. Remember to show the sources!
    4. Sync the voiceover carefully with graphical information you're providing - don't stray off-topic
  3. Radio broadcasts:
    1. Follow the first guideline from point 2, "Videos"
    2. Focus especially on pronunciation & flow as your voices will be the only medium available: you need to be clear, easy  & pleasant to follow
    3. Introduce the topic & structure clearly, just like in the second guideline from point 2, "Videos"

Cheers, your teacher

Some tips for group work

  1. Create a shared GoogleDrive folder.
  2. Make sure each and every person in your group is assigned a particular role.
  3. Set deadlines for yourselves and stick to them!
  4. Remember the critical, analytical approach: don't just list things, but be critical of your sources and remember to address the problems & relevant issues related to your topic.
  5. Make sure all the pictures, videos etc. etc. extra material supports your work - don't add something just because it looks nice!
  6. In the case of videos & voiceover: practice, practice & practice your spoken parts! Remember sentence rhythm, strategic pauses and breaks (to emphasize/mark something important) and general flow of the speech.
